How to Help
"If I can help-just a little-then I feel that's what I am supposed to do. It's just part of me."
Sharon Straus, Founder and Director of Sunshine pantry
We're looking for help from considerate, compassionate and caring people who want to help those less fortunate and down on their luck. How you can help:
As a 501(c) 3 non-profit organization, Sunshine Pantry accepts food donations from individuals and organizations. We need literally tons of food annually to feed those in need in the community. You can also donate your gently used clothing, housewares, toys and other items useful to struggling families.
If your organization wants to give back to the community you can help us with canned food drives or other activities. We appreciate the support of Scout troops, school groups, youth groups and other community organizations.
Your generous cash donations enable us to purchase items needed to maintain a complete range of healthy, fresh foods and critical hygiene and paper products. Cash donations also support our annual "back to school' program, which provides backpacks and supplies for more than 200 children. Cash donations are also used for our annual "holiday" program which provides toys, gifts and holiday meals for hundreds of local families who would go without if not for the kind support of their neighbors.
Volunteer Your Time
We need help loading and unloading supplies, stocking shelves and other activities. If you have language skills or other special skills we'd also love to have your help. We always need happy people who want to make a difference in someone's lives.
